Terms and Conditions – Elective Abroad

1. Introduction

Welcome to Elective Abroad. These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in our medical and healthcare elective programs. By applying and paying the registration fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

2. Eligibility

  • Elective Abroad placements are available to medical, nursing, dental, and other healthcare students, as well as qualified professionals.

  • You must be at least 18 years old at the time of placement.

  • It is your responsibility to ensure that your elective meets the academic requirements of your university or institution.

 

3. Application Process

  • To secure your placement, you must complete an application form and pay a non-refundable registration fee of $350.

  • After receiving your application, our team will review your details and confirm placement availability.

  • Final acceptance into the program is subject to approval from our partner hospitals and healthcare institutions.

 

4. Fees & Payment

4.1 Registration Fee

  • A non-refundable registration fee of $350 is required to process your application.

 

4.2 Program Fees

  • The total program fee varies depending on your chosen destination and duration.

  • The full program fee must be paid at least 60 days before your placement start date. Failure to complete payment on time may result in the cancellation of your placement.

 

4.3 What’s Included in the Program Fee

The program fee covers:
✔️ Placement in a healthcare facility
✔️ Accommodation
✔️ Meals (breakfast and dinner only)
✔️ Airport pickup and transfers
✔️ Pre-departure support and orientation
✔️ 24/7 in-country support
✔️ A certificate upon completion

4.4 What’s NOT Included

❌ Flights
❌ Visa fees
❌ Travel and health insurance (mandatory)
❌ Vaccinations and medical tests
❌ Lunch (participants must arrange their own)
❌ Personal expenses

 

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

5.1 Registration Fee

  • The $350 registration fee is strictly non-refundable under any circumstances.

 

5.2 Program Fee Refunds

  • If you cancel more than 60 days before your elective start date, you will receive a refund minus a $200 administrative fee.

  • If you cancel between 30 and 60 days before your start date, 50% of the program fee will be refunded.

  • If you cancel less than 30 days before your start date, no refund will be given.

 

5.3 Cancellation by Elective Abroad

  • In rare cases where Elective Abroad must cancel your placement due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., political instability, natural disasters, or hospital policy changes), you will be offered an alternative placement or a partial refund.

 

6. Changes to Your Placement

  • If you need to change your elective dates, destination, or specialty, you must request it in writing at least 60 days in advance. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional costs.

  • Requests for last-minute changes (less than 60 days before the start date) may not be accommodated.

 

7. Travel, Visa & Insurance

  • Visa requirements vary by country. It is your responsibility to obtain the correct visa for your elective.

  • You must have comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including coverage for medical emergencies, cancellations, and personal liability.

  • Elective Abroad is not responsible for any costs associated with visa denials, flight cancellations, or missed flights.

 

8. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to:
✔️ Follow the rules and regulations of the hospital/healthcare facility
✔️ Maintain professional behavior at all times
✔️ Respect the cultural norms of the host country
✔️ Avoid engaging in any unethical or unprofessional conduct

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in immediate termination of your placement without a refund.

 

9. Health & Safety

  • Participants must ensure they are in good health and have received all required vaccinations before arrival.

  • If you fall ill during your elective, our local team will assist you in seeking medical attention. However, you are responsible for any medical costs incurred.

  • Elective Abroad is not liable for any injuries, illnesses, accidents, or loss of personal belongings during your placement.

 

10. Liability & Indemnity

  • Elective Abroad acts as a facilitator between students and hospitals. We are not responsible for medical outcomes, training quality, or hospital actions.

  • You acknowledge that working in a healthcare setting carries inherent risks, and you participate at your own risk.

  • Elective Abroad is not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during your elective.

 

11. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

  • If you have any issues during your elective, please report them to our local team immediately.

  • We will make every effort to resolve concerns in a fair and reasonable manner.

  • Formal complaints must be submitted in writing within 14 days of completing your elective.

 

12. Photography & Media Consent

  • By participating in Elective Abroad, you consent to the use of photographs, videos, and testimonials for marketing and promotional purposes.

  • If you do not wish to be included in such materials, you must inform us in writing before your placement begins.

 

13. Amendments to Terms & Conditions

  • Elective Abroad reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to participants and updated on our website.
